  • I respect the privacy and confidentiality of my clients. I may make use of large language models and other AI-assisted tools in the course of my work to support research, drafting, analysis, or productivity. Where contracts, client AI policies, confidentiality requirements, or the sensitivity of information require restrictions on such use, those requirements will be complied with. Sensitive or confidential information will not be shared with AI systems where prohibited by law, contract, policy, or professional judgement.

  • I engage AI tools in an exploratory capacity. This implies leveraging the models to generate initial drafts, ideas, and perspectives that may inform my final work, and also to test the potential contributions of available tools to our discipline.

  • I utilize AI to streamline tasks. This includes accepting suggested edits in built-in tools in email and word processors, as well as using available AI tools by providing detailed prompts to the AI, requesting editing, refinement, critique, or formatting support. By utilising detailed prompts the use of AI not only speeds up the workflow, but also allows a high degree of customization in the final output.

  • While AI aids the initial and intermediary stages of work, I retain complete control over the final output (together with any teams I am collaborating with). I meticulously review and edit all AI-generated content, ensuring it accurately reflects my expertise, encompasses locational specifics, and to the best of my own knowledge does not replicate biases. I also verify any specific data or references it may produce.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically language models, are tools that I utilize to enhance efficiency in my consulting. Recognizing the advancing capacities of these AI models, and their increasingly significant role, this policy outlines the principles that guide my use of such tools. AI does not replace the human to human engagement that is a necessary and fulfilling part of development work.

AI POLICY

  • I acknowledge that AI is an evolving field and am committed to staying abreast of the latest advancements and adjusting my practices accordingly.

  • It is assumed that AI use for day to day tasks is accepted as normal use of technological tools.

  • I will endeavor to remain up to date on ethical principles for AI use, including respecting user data privacy, maintaining confidentiality, and avoiding any harmful applications, as well as sharing lessons on its usage for those engaged in governance.

  • This AI Policy may be updated periodically to reflect the evolving nature of AI technology, feedback from others, and its application in my consulting and blogging work. It is an assertion of my commitment to responsible, ethical, and effective use of AI.
